The Association’s Origins

The Herboretum Association was created on 12th February 2004 by distinguished specialists who have a true passion for the beauty and treasures of Nature. Amongst these founding members are:

  • Jean Cotte (passed away in March 2004), Professor of Dermocosmetology;
  • Frédéric Cuillerier, Mayor of Saint-Ay;
  • Pierre Delaveau, Doctor of Pharmacy, Medicine, and Natural Sciences;
  • Pierre Deprez, Attorney at Law, specialised in the use of medicinal plants;
  • Alban Muller, President of the Alban Muller Group;
  • Michel Paris, Professor of Pharmacognosis (Emeritus);
  • Joseph Pouget, Doctor in Law, specialised in Public Health;
  • Jacques Puisais, Founder of the French "Institut du Goût" (Flavour Institute);
  • Anne-Marie Royer-Pantin, Author.

Science, History, Literature and Law are thus united to achieve one goal: promoting communication and exchanges of ideas, to create a cultural process, that in itself makes the association a privileged place, an oasis focusing on the protection of the Plant world.
