Observing

Animal diversity is born of vegetal diversity. This is how a whole world of little fauna and insects settled into the domain and colonised each of its nooks and corners.

The understanding of the interactions between animal and vegetal species and the phenomenons ruling their balance is born of observation.

To evaluate how healthy biodiversity is, numbered indicators are installed at the European but also at the regional levels.

Papillon flambé (Iphiclides podalirius)

The Herboretum observes the frequency and abundance of these species, the presence of which may be visible thanks to the efforts made to help and favour their settling down.

All the data collected by a net of observers, among which stands The Herboretum, are then analysed by the scientists.
